Surgery Update

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the long over due update. The surgery & recovery was more then I ever thought.

I had Latissimus Dorsi Flap Reconstruction with Tissue expander's along with right side mastectomy. The surgery took 9 hours. Steve & mom along with the best kids a mom could ask for sat Patiently waiting every hour for the an update. The plan was to run the kids to school, but both kids would not leave until they knew their mom was ok. Stephanie was really strong until she got home, then the tears came, but poor Steven my strong little boy couldn't hold the tears back when he had to leave his mom that night.

I came home from the hospital last Friday, moving very slow. Today I had two tubes taken out, and hopefully I will get the other two out next week.

Thanks again for all the support, friendship, and most of all the prayers.

Love In Christ,
Renee

Update on Travis Bane

I just received a call (9:30 pm) from Travis mom & dad, he came
through the surgery and is doing really good. The surgery took 7
hours. they started at 2:00 pm. They will keep him on the respirator
tonight. He will be in ICU for a couple of days, then they will move
him to a regular room. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.
thanks again for all the prayers.

Love In Christ,

Renee

Urgent Prayer Request

Will everyone please say a prayer for Travis Bane. He is a good
friend of ours from church & school. He is eleven years old. He is
having surgery Today in Duke on his spine. They are going to fuse
a metal rod to his spine and move his organ back into place. His
spine is so curved that it is causing him to have problems breathing,
and his parents were told he had to have the surgery. If he don't he
will die and if he has the surgery there is a change he might not make
it through. If they are able to go through the back he will have a
better change, but if they have to go through the front they will have
to go through the diaphragm his changes isn't good. I am attaching a
few pictures of Travis we took Saturday at the Park, so everyone can put
a face with the prayers...

Thanks and God Blessing to everyone.

Renee

Please pass this to all your friends & family (He needs all the prayers he can get)

Race For The Cure 2008

Today was the Race For The Cure. There was over 11,000 people there to walk for a Cure. My Mom, Amy, Stephanie, Steven, and myself walked 3 mile in 1 hour 14 minutes. Steve & Cyndi ran and finished in 30 minutes. This was their first race they have ran. Last year I was only able to go 1 mile and had to stop 3 or 4 times, but this year I walked the whole way and didn't stop. Thanks to everyone for all the support.
