Kyle R. "Bob" Patteson

Summerfield - Kyle R. "Bob" Patteson, 80, of Summerfield, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at Marion House Health Care Center, Ocala. He was born in Speedway, WV. He was a retired truck driver for MeadowGold Dairy. Mr. Patteson was a member of First Baptist Church of Belleview. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the United States Army.

Mr. Patteson is survived by his wife, Betty Boling Patteson, Summerfield; daughters, Dottie (Carl) Slone, Summerfield, Cookie (Tim) Rothwell, Dunbar, WV; brothers, Crozier (Annie) Patteson, Bluefield, WV, Tommy (Zula) Patteson, Princeton, WV, James (Jean) Patteson, Roanoke Rapids, NC; sisters, Pearl Fortner, Princeton, WV, Ruby Carroll, Bluefield, WV, Launa Barrett, Greensboro, NC, Rosella (Larry) Bird, Gretna, LA, Betty (Jim) Long, Bluefield, WV, Sue (Clinton) Lilly, Spanishburg, WV; sister-in-law, Betty Rae Patteson, Greensboro, NC, grandson, Bobby Rothwell, great-granddaughter, Kelsie Rothwell, both of Dunbar, WV.

He is predeceased by his parents, Jessie and Exie Patteson, and brother, Clayton Patteson.

Funeral services will be at 3 PM, Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview with Rev. Ronald S. Walker officiating. His body will be brought back to WV for a another funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Richard Carbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478.

Lazy Day at Salem Lake

After Church today, we went home changed clothes, grabbed some lunch and spent the afternoon at Salem Lake. It was really relaxing.

End of the Summer Blow Out

We went to my brother house for a cook-out tonight. We had a really nice time.

R.I.P. Kyle Robert Patteson

I just wanted everyone to know that my Uncle passed away peaceful this morning around 5:00 am. Please pray for his family (Betty, Cookie, Tim, Dottie, Carl, Bobby, Kelsey) and all his brothers and Sisters. The Brothers & Sister are leaving out tonight or early in the morning to go to Florida for a Service, and then they will bring him back to WVa for another service and burial. Thanks again for all the prayers.

Prayer Request

I just got a call from my mom tonight and my Uncle Kyle has took a turn for the worst and his blood pressure has dropped. They have called his family in, the doctor doesn't think he will make it through the night. He has been battling Alzheimer know for last 3 years. Please pray for him (Kyle Patteson) and for the Patteson Family.

Labor Day 2007

2nd Tooth Gone

Today Stephanie pulled out her 2nd tooth all by herself. My little girl is going up fast.

Family Day Out

It was a nice day, so after Church, we noticed Shrek 3 was playing at the $2 movies. We decide to go and eat at CiCi's Pizza and then go and see "Shrek 3". It was a great family movie; the kids laugh though the whole thing. Stephanie couldn't take her eyes off the screen. We had a good time, I love spending time with Steve and the kids.

Celebration Time......

Today is my last radiation treatment. It has been a long hard road, but I know that if it wasn't for God. I wouldn't have made it this far. Thanks for all the prayers and support. God is Good. Today after my treatment, Steve and the kids are taken me out to eat for a celebration dinner, so join in and help me celebrate.

Yesterday, I received my graduation pin for finishing up all my treatments from the Breast Cancer Center. I also saw my radiation doctor and she had to treat the skin because it was burnt really bad. I could feel immediate relief. Thanks for all the prayers.

Help Me Count My Days Down

It has been a long hard road since November, but my last 5 days are around the corner. I know God has been by my side the whole way and without him I wouldn't have got this far. So join me in helping me count my last 5 radiation treatments days down.

School Update

The first day of school, was really great. The kids had a good time and couldn't believe the day was over.

Today will be their first full day. They get to eat lunch, and have rest time. Steven isn't one to lie down and rest during the day, so we will see how that goes. They thought they were big kids today, we dropped them off at the door and they walked in all by themselves carrying their lunch boxes looking big and brave. I was sad but proud of them at the same time.

Since school is back in, my Diet Coke date will start again. I can’t wait. It means so much to me and makes me feel so good.

Today Steven was looking at some old pictures, when Steven said "daddy look, you have a cigarette."

Steven: You have quite now.

Daddy: Yes, it's been two years now. Thank you.

Steven: Why did you say thank you.

Daddy: Because having you and Stephanie made me want to stop smoking.

Steven: no Daddy, you were looking for some cheap and couldn't fine any......

Radiation Update

Hello Everyone,

Just a short note to let everyone know how my radiation treatment is going. I am now on my third week of treatment. I have a bad sunburn from the treatment and a rash. Plus this week I have developed Lymphedema in my left arm. It isn't life threatening, but it can last over a long period of time. This condition involves swelling of the soft tissues of the arm or hand. The swelling may be accompanied by numbness, discomfort, and sometimes infection. I do have an infection in the arm, which I started an antibiotics on Friday. I will start physical therapy on the arm on the 27th and will have to wear a special sleeve. They will be keeping a very close eye on the Lymphema, if it gets any worse I will have to have an operation to have the fluid removed. I know that with God on my side he will take good care of me.
